Once upon a time in April 2016 there was a squirrel with a cone and a human with a cell phone camera, or so the story goes. Caught this hungry soul so focused on the ice cream cone, I could have bopped it on it’s nose and it would not have noticed!!
I think this has been the best Fall in ages! It started slowly and has hung around unlike previous years. And the colours are just amazing. Didn’t have to go far to see them either. I am glad we get to experience and enjoy the four seasons every year.
I met the North York Happy Hiker group yesterday for long hike – 13.8k following Toronto’s Don river. We started from Edwards gardens (Toronto Botanical Garden) and followed the trail to Queen Street E. “How green is my valley” would aptly sum up the entire trail. A vast variety of flowers and plants, a mother deer with her baby and lots of crazy speeding cyclists! Luckily our group was small and fun. All in all a great experience.
Fall is here with gorgeous sunny days with blue skies, some cool, some cold and some hot times in the day. My two friends and I decided to take advantage of the lovely weather this weekend and take a trip to the Islands. Not to the Caribbean, but across the lake from TO. A short ferry ride and voila!
Water’s edge.. lake Ontario!! 🙂 These waters are known to be REALLY cold even in the summer months, but my intrepid partner in crime and I wanted to dip our toes in the water and maybe even walk in the shallow water for a bit.. The sky and the water were so blue, we felt we were in the Mediterranean.. Ha!
After a few squeals and giggles, we were glad we took the chance! The water was glorious!!! We spent a lovely afternoon at the beach, the sun having picked up enough strength to give us a sunburn by the end of the afternoon. While we sat on the beach, we had a couple of visitors who are totally adapted to swim in the freezing waters… The mother thinks we were sitting at their favourite spot and so they were checking us out!! Nice of them to share….
